Lower Blepharoplasty

Lower Blepharoplasty

Restore contour. Preserve expression.

What is a Lower Blepharoplasty?

Lower blepharoplasty is a procedure that refines the under-eye area by addressing fat prominence, skin laxity, and contour irregularities.

Under-eye aging is usually caused by a combination of fat prominence, thinning skin, and descent at the eyelid-cheek junction rather than excess fat alone. Instead of simply removing fat, the procedure often repositions and supports existing tissue to restore a smooth transition between the lower eyelid and cheek.

The goal is structural harmony and a refreshed appearance that stays balanced at rest and in motion.

Best Decision I ever Made

Right from the start, I knew I was in great hands. He spent over 45 minutes with me on a video call, asking thoughtful questions and walking me through the procedure, the process, and the downtime. I've truly never met a doctor so patient, kind, and caring.

Came out Flawless

Dr. Gould did an excellent job going through all my concerns with me, and explaining what needed to be done and why. I never felt 'pressured' into anything, which is a major problem with other doctors I'd visited.

Frequently asked questions

Lower blepharoplasty addresses under-eye bags by modifying the fat and structural support of the lower eyelid. In many cases, fat is repositioned rather than removed to restore a smooth transition between the eyelid and cheek, avoiding a hollow or deflated appearance.

The goal is restoration, not volume removal. By preserving or repositioning fat, the under-eye maintains a natural level of support. When performed correctly, the result appears smooth and anatomically balanced rather than hollow.

Incisions are typically placed inside the eyelid or just beneath the lash line. With appropriate technique and healing, scars are minimal and generally difficult to detect. The approach is selected based on individual anatomy.

Most patients experience swelling and bruising for approximately 7 to 14 days. You will generally look presentable within a couple of weeks, with continued improvement as residual swelling resolves over time.

Early improvement is visible once initial swelling subsides. Final refinement occurs gradually over several weeks to months as the tissues settle and the contour becomes more defined.

Lower eyelid surgery does not impair vision. Temporary swelling may cause mild visual changes early in recovery, but this resolves as healing progresses. Individual considerations are reviewed during consultation.
